Moving from AI experiments to business redesign

Deloitte’s enterprise report distinguishes surface-level AI use from process redesign and deeper business-model transformation.

Deloitte’s 2026 enterprise report presents a mixed picture: organizations report productivity and insight benefits, yet many still layer AI onto existing processes. The larger difference appears when roles, workflows and control decisions are redesigned for human-agent collaboration.

Three foundations for scale

First, trusted data and modular architecture are needed so systems access current, authorized information. Second, governance must define ownership, human control points, behavior records and independent validation. Third, workforce skills and career paths need to reflect new responsibilities such as agent oversight and quality management.

For an executable portfolio, classify each workflow by its level of change: assistance to existing work, redesign of core steps, or creation of a new service. That distinction makes return expectations, change budgets and success measures more realistic. Scaling is therefore an operating-model program supported by technology, not simply a sequence of model deployments.
